The Full Story
About three years ago, I went to the Post Office and I noticed a small kitten hiding under a bush. Concerned for its wellbeing, I returned later with some food, hoping to help in any way I could. As it appeared that someone else was also caring for the kitten, I left a note nearby, unsure of what might come next. The following day, I received a response to my note from a woman named Cecelia. She too had been feeding the kitten and was actively involved in caring for a colony of cats in the area. She asked if I would be willing to help her with the colony. I agreed thinking it would be a temporary commitment. However, as the days turned into weeks and then years, I found myself deeply involved in this mission. Cecelia's dedication and love for these animals were truly inspiring, and I felt a strong sense of responsibility to continue what she started. Though she passed away in 2023, I've kept my promise to her and continued to care for the colony in her memory. This website and the work that we do are dedicated to and inspired by Cecelia Theis---my dear friend and rescuing partner.
If you would like to learn more about Cecelia and her incredible work as an advocate for saving cats in the East Bay, I encourage you to visit the "resources" page (scroll to bottom of page) where her full story is shared. There, you will find more about her life's mission and the lasting impact she has made.

We Miss you Cecelia Theis.
